This year's event was very disappointing, almost nothing new was announced, most of the things were previously announced with some other occasion or online already.

I agree with both of you as well. Last year was a blast. This year was a bust for me.

Don't know about that. Just being there was a visual blast and overload. I was surprised at the things I missed.

I love Otakon, but it simply does not compare.

@ phoenixalia, Dandylion and Thorfinn

Hate to agree with you, guys. Not only there's been very few new announcements, but all of them (except the new Gundam ONA) have been utter crap Rolling Eyes

[Edit]: removed unnecessary nested quotes. Please read the quoting guidelines. Errinundra.

People don't normally go to these events for the announcements.......... I was surprised that you guys had that expectation. (Japanese) fans generally go for the stage events and exclusive merch, mainly.

I could see that. There were a lot of lines for the merchandise booths. At least they were nice enough to have line end headers who had billboards of what to buy, cause you couldn't get close enough to see what to buy without getting in line otherwise.

I had hoped to see some Magical Girl Raising Project and Overlord merchandise, but no luck there. Sadly nothing of Tanya either, but probably too soon for her.
