If one wanted to learn to draw Hentai, wheather to add an intimate scene to a story, or just out of curiosity, are there any books that could teach one how to do so?

Not a book, but it looks like Rightstuf has a DVD available that you could watch to possibly teach you how.

Well, their are tons of "How to draw manga/anime" stuff out there. I'm sure that once you figure out how to draw manga then drawing hentai shouldn't be too difficult for you. Google is your friend~

Antarctic Press actually published a couple of books titled "How to draw Hentai". I'm not so sure, though, if the focus of the series actually was on the drawing... ^^;

I'm not entirely sure, but aside from those general "how to draw manga/anime" books, it would be helpful to take a look at books that deal with drawing the human body in general. An understanding of human anatomy becomes incredibly important when drawing hentai, since you can't exactly cover EVERYTHING up in hentai, after all. Anime smile

I know that book, actually. They're selling those here too. I just can't remember where I found it.

I think you can learn through watching hentai. I learned how to draw anime just by watching anime. I just click "pause" and start copying.

Hmm, I would think real porn would be another to get detailed on drawing "certain" elements if you're wanting to draw hentai as well. A friend of mine is an artist who also takes into drawing hentai at times, his works are VERY detailed in some scenes Wink

In addition to the books there's also online guides available. More downloads can be found on Google if you search. Not sure if they would be helpful or not but they're worth taking a look if you don't want to spend money, heh.

... yeeeeeah. Drawing hentai. Just buy a lot of porn magazines as reference, and there you go. Tentacles shouldn't be that hard to draw.

You draw hentai with your free right hand. Or, you can switch hands on occasion. Very Happy

And be careful not to stain your drawing area. Laughing

Very good point chicogrande! Seriously I think hentai would be hard to draw. The action simply wouldn't be good in manga format...

Just copying stuff doesn't really teach you how to draw. It's one step below tracing. If you actually want to become a talented hentai artist then I can't really help you but for just straight forward drawing knowledge try those "How to Draw" books. My brother usually laughs at those sort of things (given that he's an actual art student; I digress) but they probably give you some form of knowledge.

DON'T, DON'T, DON'T use "how to draw manga style this that whatever" books.

I have a friend who draws in the yaoi field (different orientation, same principle) and the most dramatic improvement she ever made as an artist was when she started studying anatomical and figure drawing books. So don't bother with "How to Draw Animu Hentai Meido Tentacle Lolipr0n" books. Just start drawing naked people.

Incidentally I did spot a "how to draw hentai" book at Borders once, but it turned out to be more like an illustration catalog of ideas for "sexy maid" or "sexy teacher" or "sexy elf girl" or "sexy catgirl" or whatever. Complete waste of $30, if you ask me.

(at least it wasn't Christopher Hart though)
