Thanks for these additional article. Even if Isao Takahata was old it's still difficult to cope with his departure, and reading that many people are expressing their condolences helps a little.
He was my favourite director and he won't ever be replaced. Sad

Typo in 5th paragraph:
Quote:
Director and wrister Shunji Iwai
should instead read as

Good to know that there's a lot of people out there that still remembered Isao Takahato and bidding their last farewell. His works will continue to last for a long time.

He was a great man. He gave us so many great works.

We put our display last week in tribute to him. I had to help my co-worker find films to put on the shelf. And I was surprised of some of the films he was involved in that he didn't necessarily direct. It's funny to see 'Little Nemo' on the shelf next to the 'Yamadas', but I happen to see the trivia piece ANN placed in the section under his name listing all his works.

Some friends of mine got their hands on a tape featuring some preliminary animations that were worked on regarding the project. It was very Studio Ghibli but looks nothing like what the final product was. I was surprised to see his name on the production.

I send my most highest respects to his family. He will be sorely missed but NEVER forgotten.

RIP
