Goldy Pond is my second favorite arc in the series. I loved the transition from psychological thriller to a more action oriented shonen. And I felt the integrity of the series was able to be kept in that move as well. It’s nice to see a shonen tackle different genres in each arc since many try but few manage to be as successful.
For manga readers, it’s refreshing to know that the arc afterwards dials down the action and elects for the mental gymnastics of its roots.

I really disagree with the review. The first half is the best stuff in the arc. It sets up such wonderful mystery and greatly expands the world In an unexpected and thrilling way.
