Kind of an alternative to the production committee system, perhaps: just own all the things yourself.

Acquiring a studio will enable Kadokawa to have more control on the anime adaptations they decided to produce. Some anime they had produce in recent years had some quality problems because of the use of new studios. But still, looking at the number of anime they produce each season they still have to contract other studios.

I really like Made in Abyss and Revue Starlight and thought they were well made. I hope this joint venture translates to more high quality anime productions from Kinema Citrus, which is becoming one of the better studios.

Hopefully the quality of anime by Kimeta wont go downhill, Kadokawa also is quite the asshole when it comes to sequels.

Sad to see an evil company like Kadokawa acquiring a quality studio.
