I loved the anime and only wished they'd continued it. This is definitely one I wish they'd do a reboot of as sports anime is quite popular and I'm sure it would be a hit.

I think it missed the 2010s train for sport nostalgia reboots, tbh. Not to be a stick in the mud, but notice what the current sport anime have in common. I wouldn’t say never, but is the current iteration even attracting new readers in the younger demographic or is it a nostalgia read?

I never got around to reading the manga which I'm going to try and rectify if there are still copies to be found. I love many sports related manga and anime so I'm going to continue keeping my fingers crossed but as you say it's probably a long shot.
