Does this mean it will now longer be an arcade style game.

I actually played Virtua Fighter 5 at Club Sega in Tokyo back in January. It was such a fun game!

Regardless of whether this will lead to VF6 or some sort of reboot, which has also been rumored, I just hope that Sega will also release a compilation of the older games to help celebrate the entire series. VF1/Remix has never had an arcade-perfect console release to my knowledge (Astro City Mini notwithstanding, but that's not out yet), VF3tb's Dreamcast port was not arcade perfect either, & VF4: Final Tuned has never left arcades in general, so it'd be great to see a collection that includes all the final versions of VF1-4 (get M2 to do them justice), while VF5: Final Showdown is more than worthy of having a new port all its own.

There was a Puyo Puyo game released a while back that was centered around eSports so I assume this will be similar?

VF is a less flashy DOA. That´s why part of the cast went there now. Figuring out how to make a 6th entry isn´t rocket science but the market will be limited too.
