Same weekend as Otakon; guess they’re the next shoe to drop?

If Funimation buying of CR was successful, then CR (and their operations) getting shut down is just a matter of when.

Don't know what that has to do with anything in this article or their comment. CR Expo is going virtual again because we're still in a pandemic and likely will be for several more months. And they were asking if/when Otakon will similarly announce going virtual since they were set to take place on the same weekend.

Honestly, considering they're going virtual this year, I'd hoped they'd load the guestlist to the brim with anime industry people. Don't get me wrong, I know voice actors and cosplayers bring in the crowds, but I always enjoyed the writer/producer/mangaka panels much more.
