Not sure what K-On has to do here besides girls rock-band theme, but it is clearly an attempt to make their own Bandori rival.

It’s funny to see BanG Dream! so obviously imitated like this, when Bandori got off to a legendarily rough start and looked dead in the water: BanG Dream! Dōjin Event Only Recruits 9 Circles.
