It was only a matter of time. The question is, how much will it cover, and how far along is the manga into the story? It's at 90 chapters right now, but it's been over three years since its debut thanks to the biweekly release. Going by the story, I think it might be gearing up for one or two more arcs.

Sweet, knew it would happen eventually. 100 year quest is honestly better than the original series so looking forward to seeing it animated.

This is interesting but I wish they would have done some of the other spin-offs first to give 100 year quest more time to put out new material. I’d at least like to see the Gray one animated.

I wonder if this will go to Funimation or if Netflix will get it like they did Eden’s Zero.

It'd be ideal to let Funimation have it. Massive props to Bang Zoom for the effort in getting the essential Funimation actors involved in Edens Zero and then some, but I don't see any other studio bringing back most of the old cast if it wasn't Funimation.

No matter what you think of Funimation nowadays, Fairy Tail was their darling in the 2010s, and the love they put into it really helped push it up.

It was probably inevitable, so not too surprising, but I hope they're able to adapt it well and it doesn't become the slideshow the later seasons of Fairly Tail did.

hold up seriously I don’t read the manga but I heard the 100 year quest was supposed to be the final arc Of fairy tail and now they’re finally animating it that’s great now if only they give us the release date of when it’ll start to air

It's not the final arc, but the manga sequel. The original author/artist is only the manga storyboarder, and I think the writer too, but that seems to be more a collaborative effort; the illustration is by another artist.

Funimation dodged a bullet not getting EZ. They probably won't be so lucky with 100YQ

Why? Funimation getting 100 Years Quest would be a good thing.

Let's [expletive] goooooo!

100 Years Quest is absolutely incredible. In some ways even better than the Original FT and I can't wait to see it animated. I just hope that the series will get more love and a higher budged by the animation studio working on it, because last few seasons had very lacking animation and were disappointing adaptations in at least that regard.

As much as I am excited with the upcoming anime, I would love to see if the staff can improve on from what they could have done with the 2009, 2014, and 2018 anime series in every aspect; especially with the story and pacing for the 100 Years Quest manga. But if this series will broadcast on TV Tokyo or even a different network with morning timeslots, then the chances of uncensorship will be butchered. Not even the home media releases could make any animation improvements, due to scheduling conflicts, and that says a lot. I'm not sure if the animation studios responsible for the 2018 series will make a return, but it could be possible that A1 still holds the production rights to the anime and that there could be a new studio that could do better than Bridge/CloverWorks. All in all, I'm hoping that the 100 Years Quest anime will bring quality over quantity to this anime franchise.

Do I need to have read/watched Fairy Tale to enjoy 100 Years Quest? Because i dropped FT about 3 or 4 volumes in, but I hear the new series is an improvement.
