I've been waiting a long time to see this character in action. I love that she's a reference to Jimmy Stewart (James Maitland Stewart).

Nice catch on that! A lot of folks do not realize what a role he had in "It's a Wonderful Life", as a bomber pilot recently back from the war playing the hometown hero who was 4F. 50 Missions, an accomplishment. That said. They ger to wear PANTS in a Witches anime? Wow! Well, OK skirts, but still.. no nonstop panty shots. I believe I will be watching this one! |

I can't take credit for that
 I read about the connection from early articles on this project as far back as 2018, when her surname was being reported as "Stewart" rather than "Steward." The references are a fun part of the franchise, like Charlotte Yeager being based on Chuck Yeager, who was a sort of boyhood hero to me.
Yeah, the original excuse was that pants would interfere with the striker units, though that doesn't explain why they don't wear them when they're on the ground, and I don't see why they couldn't wear small shorts while flying. Regardless, since the Luminous Witches are singers rather than fighters, they get to wear more. |
