This takes place between Cold Steel 2 and 3 so I'd say yes it probably spoils some big Cold Steel story thingies.

Probably. There's a big massive gap between CS2 and CS3. It was rather conspicuous, so much so that it felt like there was a missing game. This anime presumably fills in that big gap
