Rurouni Kenshin, ANN's favourite franchise.

Wonder how many people will truly boycott it.

Can't wait to see it turn into a Hogwarts Legacy situation again, i.e. people going out of their way to not just boycott the product itself, but activately harassing/insulting the people who genuinely enjoy it.

I guess besides amount of decades of improvements, they also got a different art director. The old I think was also famous for animating GetBackers among others.

This will be my first time watching the show. Miss me with all the author drama though, not my problem.

Just so you know, "Art Director" in anime refers to the main person in charge of the backgrounds, nothing to do with characters, so wrong wording here.

The new character designer is Terumi Nishi, mainly know as the character designer for Jojo Part 4.

I completely understand people who won't watch it but harassing those who will is wrong.

Back on topic... hopefully this series will have a good soundtrack to go along with it. Heart of the Sword will be hard to top I think.

I'm not gonna buy a physical copy, but the series is a beloved piece of Shonen Jump history both overseas and in Japan. I'm looking forward to seeing this adaptation be the definitive version of the story. Watsuki himself is a disgusting predator, but I've never really allowed my view on the individual to affect my enjoyment of something. I still enjoy Rick and Morty and Ren and Stimpy despite... let's not talk about that.

I wonder when it gets dubbed, if they will bring any VAs back either of the previews 2 dubs. Then again it will likely go to Funimation, so i guess either brand new cast or brand new cast plus token reprisal.

I'm surprised they releasing this in the same season as JJK and Bleach.

Well, it's not like the various committees decide on an order for these things. They all want to make money now. And given how the wider shounen fanbase consists of a huge, but mostly casual audience (at least in terms of anime consumption), I doubt the average fan would see this as overload. If anything, I'd imagine it'd be a case of one tide lifting all boats
