Mephisto III's voice actor Furukawa Toshio, appropriately enough, also plays Nezumi Otoko in the current versions of GeGeGe no Kitarou like the 2018 release. No Sawashiro Miyuki in the title role though.

I've now finished this show and see it as one of the underappreciated gems of 2023. Mizuki's style and sense of humor underlay this whole show, which in the end turns out to be a story about family and friendship. Ichiro is a pain in the butt as a personality, but he grows, and the characters around him are sufficiently interesting on their own to carry the show.
At the end they leave open the possibility of another season, but I'm pretty dubious since this show has gotten no attention whatsoever on this side of the Pacific as far as I can tell.
