My thoughts on the trailer:

Well, Tae's awake. Assuming this sticks, it feels like the end of the series.

Presumably this will bring in stuff from the prequel manga.

This movie is gonna have a lot to do and I wonder how they'll pull that off.

Speaking as someone mostly familiar with 90s anime: Do anime tie in movies these days just assume you know the series, or will there be a recap of the premise for movie audiences? Wondering this mainly because the premise of Zombie Land Saga is kind of a complicated one. Re-establishing everything could take a while.

Then you have a bunch of new elements. You need to establish the status quo only to break it with Tae waking up. Then you have her backstory. And also, you know, there's aliens now. Oh, and this is an idol show so we'll need some musical performances.

There's enough here for an entire third season. Doing it within the runtime of a movie feels like it could be challenging.

If this is the end, I'm a little sad that we're unlikely to get an exploration of Yugiri and Lily's friendship. That always was my favorite bit of the series.

So the sentai stuff from the season one opening is now part of the story?

You crazy SOBs I’m in!

Can’t wait to finally see the movie, though I agree with the post above about the concerns about stuffing all of the stuff into film sized rather than a full TV season

Depends a bit on the title, but usually movies that are sequels to series (rather than alternate retellings, like the Escaflowne movie) expect viewers to be up-to-date with the franchise.

I agree and am a little concerned about that, but this franchise has pulled off some stupefying stunts before. The end of the second season was such a jaw-dropper that I'm eager to see how this craziness plays out.

Has anyone heard how Saga tourism has been doing?

Like several others, I'm worried how they're going to do justice to everything that looks like will be part of this film.

Of course, this could just be the first of a series of films, for all we know at this point.

I was hoping for a season 3 but I guess the movie is probably going to be the finale for the series.

Shame because I feel like there was a lot more plot threads worth exploring such as the old Ai crew etc

Aliens is a weird way to end though

I'm also hoping for a season 3 but if this movie's the end then I hope it goes out with a bang.

Feels really weird to just show off Tae waking up in the trailer. Would think that'd be something you'd kind of save as a big plot twist.
