The open work driving segment looked terrible. So wide, empty, and boring. Reminds me when a ton of games tried to do that in the late 2000s with the open world craze.

I just hope that the bike phase won't be a poor attempt at an open world with a similar landscape over minutes of biking, a low enemy spawn rate, the feeling of emptiness will certainly be strong, especially if we are one shooting them with no effort slide attack..

We finally have a release date for Metroid Prime 4, so far it's looking promising but we'll have to see if it's worth the wait outside of trailers.

Metroid Prime is 2 decades old and its lush, intricate environments are sill a wonder to explore. For our new game, we have a barren desert to drive through. Great.

I revisited Metroid Prime: Remastered, I still get a kick out of exploring the planet of Talon IV. Parts of the Talon IV overworld reminds me of some of the rainforests in the Pacific Northwest. I can't really give an opinion on Metroid Prime 2's overworld as I haven't played it and I'd like to be able to without having to pay a subscription to do so.

Has anyone already made a drawing of Samus approaching her bike like the famous AKIRA anime poster?

I think I might've seen some fanart of Samus doing that, can't give the link or pic but know that it's out there.

Hey, I think it looks cool especially since we never saw this kind of thing in a Metroid game before.
But also, I'm still reminded of the large barren part of Mira known as Oblivia from Xenoblade X.

I'm not sure Metroid needs to be open world. I fear this will be the MGS5 of the series where the open world feels really tacked on and just a thing you have to go through until you get to your objective to get back into the gameplay proper. From the trailer I assume there'll be at least one obligatory boss fight on the bike.

Cool bike, I can't help but wonder if they were inspired by the bike in Breath of the Wild.
All the same...the open world driving stuff just doesn't feel very Metroid.
