So is this the "good one" or "bad one" since they change the playstyle of the game? I've only played the spin-offs.

9 would’ve been the bad one. Origins has scored better than the former.

That said, Origins is also a bit divisive due to only having one playable character instead of the usual hint roster, and also for that character not having any CAC/customization elements (also a fairly common element in past games) so for a lot of fans DW8 is still the last unambiguously “good” three kingdoms game.
