I don't recall the 1st part too well but I hated the 2nd part only because visually it was awful. Story was cool but the visuals (B&W CGI with a shadow filter) were so annoying it was hard to keep track of things. If it was 2D it would've been better. the 3D with B&W could've worked if not for that buggy shadow filter.

I know it's the definition of a pipe dream but I pray the day will come that Star Wars animates its Legends content. Be it anime or CW style.

It sounds like you're talking about the first episode of seasons 1 and 3 aka the duel which shows the story of the ronin in black and white in 3d. this article is about the ninth jedi, a different story, which is completely different from what you described.

The Duel, Bird of Paradise (The Polygon Pictures production) & Black where the only interesting ones. The rest of it was painfully boring and unimaginative.
