Oof that cgi is kinda bad. Couldn’t they just use a fat suit or have some plus sized celeb in a dual role?
The Japanese comments seem to show a majority actually like the make up and special effects. It may be that Japan prefers a more animated style mixed with live action while westerners prefer hyper realism. |

I’m still wondering if this will be better or worse than the joke poster which imagined Adam Sandler as Sakamoto (and inadvertently proposed a spiritual successor to You Don’t Mess With the Zohan). It looks cartoony which is clearly the idea.
