Elaina is back! Considering that it's a film format and how they ended the first season, it will probably be Amnesia's whole arc, I was already starting to lose hope. I hope this will lead to a season 2 and that they will revisit previous volumes to adapt the story of the paranoid beast-girl, this story from V1 is still my favorite as of vol 15.

I don't really like this trend that the sequel is a movie. But hey! Elaina is back and that's all that matters, I've been waiting for this ever since the season ended.

If there's any luck the movie will lead into a sequel television series.

I'm surprised this is getting a sequel since it seemed like a lot of people fell off the show after the first two episodes.

That's true but there's also not guarantee that the film will lead to a new season. Not to mention A film like this gets low chance of being picked up by a western distributor to show in theatres. NA might get this but my country, Australia? I highly doubt it.

I loved the show and i am glad that its getting a sequel, buuuuut it being a movie dampens my enthusiasm quite a bit.
As others here have said its going to be the question its going to be shown off anywhere other then NA. (if they are lucky even)
Crunchyroll has been doing a decent job in the last 2 years with the likes of Spy X Family, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man and even the JJK Season 3 pilot movie, but for anything that isn't mainstream shounen or massively popular you are shit out of luck in Europe still.
So i guess its just going to turn into the age old "catch it online somewhere 6 months after its been released" if you don't forget all about it...

I remember so many people dislike it since Elaina being passive all the time and not playing the hero and just stare and move on to another city as if nothing happened.

Elaina is a wonderful story. I love her "passivity" because it leads to an interesting mc. She puts herself first and her own needs, she is incredibly selfish sometimes lol, she does interact w the plot obviously but she becomes an observer in a world that was like this before she got there and because of the way things are, by magic or circumstance, will be somewhat the same when she leaves... anybody who likes "traveler" stories should watch Elaina. I love Kino's Journey too.

I had my problems with this series myself but apparently it's incredibly popular in Japan.

Count me among those who fell off the show after a couple of episodes. But I guess we are a minority.

I only remember some people getting mad Elaina didn't kill the one guy who had a servant girl in episode 3 and making a stink about it . the manga version of that episode was a lot more darker and probably would have upset those people more
I liked the show and knew it was popular but it seems like a case of them taking a long time to make new stuff for it despite it's popularity so I wonder how the movie will do.

I just remember being befuddled by how mean-spirited the anime was. Sure Elaina was clearly not interested in "playing the hero," but there were also a few times where she left characters in really horrific situations, even though lending a hand would've been zero effort for Elaina. Even Kino from Kino's journey, who this story was definitely inspired by, would stop and help an injured/sick person if it was within their power. But Elaina would see these poor people in the most awful situations, sometimes even dying, and her response was "Welp, sucks to be you!" And flying away. I don't need my protagonists to all be pure-hearted heroes, but it just didn't hit the right balance for me, personally.

Remember that one episode when she plagued a whole city and skedaddled away.
