It is free, FREEEEEE from PS3 jail! Also neat they have Ghost Babel on there. Hopefully we can get AC!D 1 and 2, Portable Ops, and Rising at some point

They should improve Guns of the Patriots by removing Raiden 's fights and instead make them playable like mgonline did the same engine. Perfect way to appeal to platinum and Raiden fans while balancing cutscene gameplay ratio

I'll wait and see if it's any good before considering purchasing, MGS4 is going to be the one I'm going to pay attention to in particular. That game chugged on the PS3 back in the day, you'd be lucky to get up to 30 FPS, if that.

That might be complicated at Silicon Knights has been dissolved and defunct for over a decade, mostly due to a long and sordid legal affair against Epic Games. Two companies, one of them defunct and a high profile IP makes things complicated in trying to get things ported to up to date hardware from a legal standpoint.

Pretty sure that even if you were to somehow do that you’d still have cutscenes that are way too long. |

Actually, I would be shocked if we were able to get Twin Snakes in a future collection, or included as a surprise update on maybe one of the collection (probably Vol. 1) in the future (I leaned toward the latter). |

A bit surprised they didn't throw in Rising while they were at it, but it's nice MGS4 is finally freed from PS3 exclusivity.

Silicon Knights/Dennis Dyack wouldn't have any rights to Twin Snakes, since they were simply the developer hired to make the game, & the copyright for the game itself only states Konami. Konami's the kind of company that would never willingly co-own the rights for a game from one of its most iconic series; they'd 100% own it completely. However, it is possible that Nintendo might have some exclusivity rights still, depending on how the deal with Konami was written up when it came to the terms, so maybe it could eventually get added to NSO's GameCube catalog via emulation. Annoyed that they're ignoring Portable Ops again.
Glad for 4, not so sure about Ghost Babel since a number of these Game Boy games have had issues in these modern collections but still, sucks to see Portable Ops missing while Peace Walker gets another port. |

I thought nobody liked The Twin Snakes, due to some of the changes in gameplay and the way some scenes were redone. However I can also understand that maybe some people who weren't able to played are interested in seeing how it differs from the original MGS, and for preservation purposes. |

Agreed. I know some people debate whether Portable Ops is canon (I firmly say it is, especially with how Peace Walker starts), but it's not like that has stopped Konami from including a game. Ghost Babel is not canon, and Volume 1 included Snake's Revenge. My guess is that it comes down to technical reasons and Konami's willingness to devote resources to that. MGS4 was probably more complicated with it being a PS3 game, and Peace Walker is the HD Collection version, so they weren't pulling something off the PSP. Putting in the work on 4 and doing an actual remaster for PO was probably deemed too costly. Also, Volume 1 had more in terms of what was included, so I think Konami is keeping the purse strings tight on this one. |

Yep, that's also possible. I want to also remind you (and that include all the ANN forumite on this thread) that a lot of Gamecube-exclusive titles later ended up getting remastered ports for current gen console like for example the Resident Evil 1 remake and Resident Evil Zero were both released on PS4 and Xbox One console. So If RE1 remake and RE 0 both formerly Gamecube-exclusive titles can get a remastered port on modern-gen consoles many years later. We can't ruled out that Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes could get a remastered port and probably added into the Master collection either vol.1 or vol.2 as an update. |

Well it's the internet so I'm sure you'll find people who hate everything. I enjoyed Twin Snakes. I liked the over-the-top nonsense that honestly doesn't seem out of place given what later games ended up doing. Also the localization is pretty accurate this time around unlike the first game which was pretty infamous for changing a ton of stuff to the point Kojima had to get involved for future games. There is lots of other games that could be included but they're probably saving stuff for Vol 3 and 4 probably to milk more money from fans. |
