Okay, at this point I'm convinced that every single Nintendo character will be in this movie. I can't wait to see Kirby voiced by Patrick Stewart.

Looks like Nintendo is trying to work towards an NCU. The Infinity War equivalent will be the Smash Bros saga.

Apparently, Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri recently gave an interview regarding Fox's inclusion in the Mario Galaxy Movie and they confirmed that it was Illumination's idea of including Fox and that Miyamoto isn't thinking of making a Smash Bros. movie. I believe that people on the Internet tend to forget that these movies are made by Illumination first, while Nintendo is obviously very protectiv of its IP, it seems they're letting the creatives at Illumination to play with their toys, some Nintendo fans tend to overthink how these movies operates, they do serve as publicity for the games, but they're not having a lasting impact on how the games will be developed, though now there are tons of rumors circulating that Nintendo will reveal a new Star Fox game to ride on the hype of Fox's appearence in the movie.

Those rumors were started by NateTheHate who has been claiming they're going to make a Star Fox game for like a decade now.

Well then, if it was all Illumination's decision to include Fox and the rumors about a new Star Fox game are really true, I hope that there's someone who really likes Style Savvy working for Illumination. Razz

I realized I haven't talked about Glen's casting as Fox. Out of all of the celebrity voices chosen for the Mario Movies it seems most people didn't have any problems with. In fact, considering his role in Top Gun: Maverick as Hangman it kind of makes sense for him to voice Fox and he seemed pretty excited about voicing Fox. Having actually watched the movie yesterday, I liked Fox's appearence, though his personality was very different from that of the games, but I think it was more in line with Glen voicing the character and the above mention character of Hangman.
Side note, I actually watched the movie in Neutral Spanish, and interestingly enough Fox is voiced by Mexican actor Alfonso Herrera, which makes him the only celebrity dub VA voicing a major character in the movie, though it wasn't a surprise because before the movie started there was a brief video of Alfonso talking about Nintendo and giving a brief recap of the first movie, when he appeared I inmediately knew he was voicing Fox, but as far as celebrity voices he actually did a great job, it helps that he has voiced various other characters in animated films, like Ted in Illumination's The Lorax, Guy in The Croods, Mack in Migration and he even acted in some anime, like voicing the titular Baki, Cygnus Hyoga in Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac (only in the first season) and the Gray Heron in Miyazaki's The Boy and the Heron.
