My one hope is that, if Netflix used its own dub cast, the actors refrained from doing "anime voices" and played it as true-to-life as possible, like the Japanese cast did. Even the Japanese voice direction flew in the face of everything the actors knew and learned about their craft.

Why? Netflix only has the streaming rights, it's not like they bought the IP. |

Not all Netflix exclusives get picked up for home video plus they overcharge for their dubs which has led to very few of them getting included. See why Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 was released subtitled-only and why for a short period, Sentai was redubbing some shows with their own cast. |
