Dragon Ball Z taught me early on that trying to make sense of the passage of time in anime is a futile task. They can say 5 minutes or half an hour all they want but it is often made far longer or shorter to match up with the story.

Yes, but when they stretch it out (and time is always stretched, never shortened unless that's the joke) there are always tells, like multiple viewpoints for the same time period, multiple camera angles on the same action, flashbacks, etc. We didn't have that in that episode.

@Edjwald - yes I noticed that too. Smile Hope it wasn't a translation error.

We have seen some out there Ether abilities such as the Minecraft digging one and the diving through walls one but Joe's explosive ability is something else. Not only does it not make any sense but it is overpowered as hell. An opponent can do nothing against a bomb he or she cannot even see while Joe can strike it from a distance to set things off.

Besides that the episode was a nice excuse to let the Braves go wild. That includes Ed who released himself from the hospital and Aki who is basically a cockroach. Oh right, Yukine lost a finger and the girls (besides Aki) showed improvement once again.

Not only is Salt Joe some kind of psychic detonator, he's also apparently bullet proof. That's a narsty combo fer sure.

At least two of the trainee braves have made tangible progress...I'm not sure if Aki has made progress or not based on all the comments from thugs wondering what Yashiro's been teaching her.

Has this show ever explained what the coffin count of storms power is and I forgot it? "Coffin Count of Storms" has got two pretty ominous sounding descriptors in the title there

Even more progress was shown regarding the trainee braves this week. Two of them showed their mettle and Yukine in particular was impressive, using her warp like that makes it very difficult to counter. As for Aki... I suppose the show will end with her staying true to herself I guess (for better or worse). No idea what the Coffin Count of Storms can do, but given the preview for next week she is showing up.

Yah, this arc has basically been the baptism of fire for Yashiro's junior brave brigade.
Yukino is basically capable of taking on most fully qualified braves by this point. Sara has come a long way in making her nerves work for her instead of against her. And Jogamine...um...

No, I still like Jogamine and whatever goofy Sailor Moon Wolverine thing she's got going on.

They made it sound like Ishino isn't merely dead but most sincerely dead this episode, but I'm still not convinced.

Jogamine has improved and found her own style of fighting.... kind of. Making use of your super regeneration and thus being very careless with your body is a fighting style of sorts... right?

I like that pretty much all the major braves that we have seen thus far are present now. I would suggest to team up with them to deal with Coffin Count of Storms but seemingly no dice. I doubt that her ability is simply telekinesis, there must be more to it than that.

Finally, Yashiro really has become the toxic boyfriend type to the girls in a way. That said, they did force him to be their mentor.

Didn't they already beat a Demon Lord (or his minion, I forget) who flung knives and swords around like she's doing?

Kinda drove me nuts with Yashiro standing around gloating over Levi and not kicking away the knife lying right next to her remaining hand. But then it didn't matter, because it disappeared when she reached back and telegraphed her drawing a previously hidden knife out of her butt, I mean hip sheath.

Yeah, the green haired Lord Wedge of Both Hands used robotic hands controlled by telekinesis. That is why I assume that Count of Storms has a different ability and that there is thus more to it.

Knife wise I assume that Yashiro was daring her to pick it up since that would give him an excuse to cut her down without Jogamine whining about not killing unarmed opponents or something similar.

To elaborate a little further on Smurky's point, I believe the robotic hands were holding swords at several points. I had a "Is that it?" reaction too.

It's to the show's credit that it has been able to have a running battle for basically five to six episodes now without me getting bored or yelling at the TV to get on with it. It's a feat that Snowball Earth didn't manage to pull off. That said, I doubt I'll ever rewatch this arc.

The show has brought up this idea that Yashiro is on the cusp of being a soulless killing machine several times now, the last time being when Levi was putting him and her and Ishino all in the same category of violence addicts as opposed to E3 addicts. That seems to be the potential that Storm Coffin Lady is enamored with, and it seems to be the fate that Yashiro wants to continue skirting in an assbackwards fashion.

Still waiting for Ishino to be revealed as one of those rare exceptions where E3 turned someone into a regenerating quasi-immortal. Chanting "BIG REVEAL! BIG REVEAL!"
