Uh, wow!!! I didn't think Bleach could make a lot of money in US/American theaters despite the anime TV series hasn't broadcasted on Adult Swim since Jan 2015 when it has stopped re-broadcasting anime at that date. Good to know Bleach fans in the US are still around (and I assume newer younger fans have been made even after Adult Swim ended the re-broadcast back in 2015). Congrats to Bleach for staying relevant in the US.

It doesn’t seem like a ton until you realize it’s a compilation movie and the total is pure profit to Viz.

Well even if it is a compilation movie, it still amazes me that the Bleach fandom in the US is still alive and it's good to know an old franchise like Bleach are still getting newer fans.

Roughly 1mil gross
943 theaters
Roughly averaged to 1060 viewed at each theater
Avg 12 a viewing = 12,725 dollars a theater
Of course some more than others

Roughly 83,000 viewed

Not bad at all imo

Oops I did it at 1mil and it's 3 mil
So 3mil
943
3180 per theater view
38,176 per theater revenue
250k views

All estimates of course

They aired the first three seasons of 1000 year blood war on Toonami last year. Plus you kind of don’t need a TV broadcast to be popular in this day and age.

Yeah, I apparently forgot that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War was broadcasted on Toonami last year. So I either forgot, or missed the report.

theNightster, you also wrote:

Although this is true, I was afraid that because of the ubiquitous amount of anime available in the US/North American market (both mainstream, mainstream shonen, lesser-well known shonen, and niche seasonal titles out there). I was worried that Bleach would get lost with all the other well-known shonen anime we have in the market (ie: My Hero Academia, Naruto, One Piece, Dragonball Super), meaning I was worried Bleach would lose it's relevance in this current anime ecosystem/market. That's why this Bleach compilation film making 3 million US dollars alone surprised me.

For every good shonen (mainstream or not well-known), there's a lot of other shonen anime titles that get lost or ended up being too niche in the US because of how many similar titles in the same genre people can find. I was afraid Bleach would become lost over the year. Glad to see it hasn't lost it's audiences in the US.
