Lot of buzz before this series started but since then its completely disappeared. No one's talking about it.

I would not go that far but it would seem that a fair amount of people expected something a little different than what they got.

I would almost compare Saru's approach to this series as being like Spy x Family: segmented stories in an episode, little sprinkles of central plot, and very high quality production value. But the former is clearly built around slice of life goofiness and comedy, where as GitS has established itself as this bold and serious cyberpunk franchise with psychological elements, which is what the majority of the fan base was probably expecting.
Given it's only been 3 episodes and the whole segmented approach, I don't think it's that the buzz has died necessarily, but more so people are just waiting a little longer to see what else the show might have to offer. |
