I loved the anime film adaptation.
I'm guessing Naka will play Kazuko?

I am excited to see this, but at the same time I can't imagine it'll be as good as the anime version, which I consider damn near a masterpiece. I think it's partly because the movie had a wonderful team behind it, and partly because the story is especially suited to animation. This article kind of makes me want to re-watch the 1983 movie.
