If Avatar keeps going the way it is..then yea I think it can beat Titanic.

It's only about $450m away from Titanic globally, and it made $300m this week alone. There's a pretty decent chance it can pass Titanic within a month or so. |
These box office comparisons are sort of meaningless. Tickets cost a lot more now than they did 12 years ago, and 3-D tickets are even more expensive than regular ones. I believe (I'd have to double-check) that Avatar is about holding even with Titanic on overall ticket sales worldwide, though; the opening in China this weekend did a HUGE number on its sales.

Avatar is really something else... but I'm just happy the Kamen Rider movie's still in the top ten. =D
