After doing some recent shopping it's become quite apparent that there are allot of quality anime and manga out there that either need to finally get picked up or need to get re-licensed. Nothing is more frustrating than wanting a specific dvd but it turns out it's not available anymore (or at all) in your country and the only alternative is to by bootlegs or used copies at ridicules prices.
As soon as the conversation of anime that need to be licensed pops up the first thing that comes to mind is 5cm Per Second. This is one of my favorite movies off all time and yet for some reason no one has bothered to pick it up after ADV dropped it. This movie continues to captivate my thoughts and I just wish I could own it. But the only way I could buy it today is if I bought a bootleg or got a spare copy for $100. Another anime that I think really needs a re-licensing is Paranoia Agent. After Geneon went under Funi went through and picked up tons of titles, yet this one remained untouched. It's annoying to know such a great series is just out of my reach. Lupin III, how does no one own this yet? It's a classic and a brilliant peice of work that I want to own, but sadly I cant. And why Has no one touched Michiko to Hatchin? I really like this series but no one in America has bothered to pick it up. I think it would really take off here. It seems like a no brainer to me.
As for manga I'd love to see Bartender get released here, it may not get a huge fallowing but I think people would like it if they gave it a shot. I'd also like to see Saint Young Men get an American release. I thought it was a really unique and funny idea that would do well here. And the Bitter Virgin already has a surprisingly large online fallowing, why not just bring it over hear?

I like to think that Bitter Virgin is one of those series most people read once. I don't think too many people would buy this manga.
I have a lot of things I want picked up that I don't believe will ever see the light of day. But why hasn't anyone picked up Haibane Renmei?

DEFINITELY Cardcaptor Sakura! Honestly, I think it would be a really hot seller if it was re licensed (by FUNI, most likely).
Next, would be Sailor Moon Sailor Stars IF ever possible...
The more inevitable ones would be season 2 of Spice and Wolf, xxxHOLiC Kei, and perhaps a 2 or 3-disk pack of ALL xxxHOLiC AND Tsubasa OVAs ... of course, the new xxxHOLiC OVAs need to come out, but as a combined pack, would make for a nice OVA collection
Oh, and Kobato!

The Rose of Versailles. If only I'd bought the German editions when I had the chance... Or the ugly fat French ones, at least. But I doubt an English publishers will step up and license this anytime soon. For some time, I was hoping CMX would pick it up, but since old shoujo sells like crap and they're still working on Swan and From Eroica with Love...
Speaking of old manga, Viz, isn't it time to reprint Adolf? And while you're at it, what about Saikano? I want that final volume.
Other titles Im waiting for are 7 Seeds, Saint Young Men and Cat Street.

Kodomo no Jikan. I would love to own translated manga and an R1 DVD set of that show. Dog of Flanders TV series as well. Found a bootleg set at Comicon years back for $25. I regret not buying it when I had the chance.

Normally, I would agree with you, but I just picked up a used set (with box) of the OOP Paranoia Agent complete collection for $50 CDN and I'd like to enjoy my score a little longer before a re-issue!
As for anime I'd love to see licensed & released, the top of my list would be Bakemonotagari - especially once the last two episodes are finally finished. Ah, to have that collection in my DVD player with all the animation sweetened from its sometimes rough TV broadcast form would be absolute bliss.
In terms of school rom-coms (one of my fave genres), I'd be grateful to have Toradora! and Lovely Complex, two superlative offerings in that field.
With respect to a Guilty Pleasure, both seasons of Rosario + Vampire would fill the bill quite nicely - assuming they are uncensored. Those pantsu yearn to breathe freely, folks!
For rock'em sock'em undead action, gimme both seasons of Shikabane Hime and Zombie-Loan. Oh and throw in a second season of Zombie-Loan while you are at it.
I could go on and on, but that seems like a good start. Needless to say, I'd love all those DVDs to be hybrid, of course.

High School Debut, School Days, School Rumble OVA 3rd Semester and Story of Saiunkoku Season 2. I was hoping that they get a licensed to US version and anime adaptation on Highschool Debut. Other that that i would like to see other Geneon titles to be relicensed(somehow) like the animes that the other posters mentioned. i would be satisfied if they do that

Of course, being the fangirl that I am, the first things that come to my mind are xxxHolic Kei and the OVAs and the Tsubasa OVAs. A Cardcaptor Sakura re-dub would be nice, but I'll admit I'm more partial now to completing the rest of xxxHolic and Tsubasa (especially xxxHolic, since that's slowly turning out to be one of my favorite anime and manga series).
I would also love it if the Nanaka 6/17 manga would be rescued. Before it was going to be released, Studio Ironcat went under, and it's a real shame since I think Nanaka 6/17 would be a manga that many could get into (then again, I'm a fan of the anime and love it to pieces, and I would love to read the manga if I ever had the chance).

Now That would be worthwhile! The Bartender Anime, while not action packed, or chocked with Romance, is truly one series I just enjoy, and since I am a complete Manga fan, I would adore to see this get released over here! Here's hoping someone will see it for what's worth.
I'd like Mr. Flower Groom by Lily Hoshino to get released, since the Volume before it was, but it Got dropped! A pity. as my lonely volume sits on it's shelf.
A big want is Gokinjo Monogatari! I'd settle for either Manga, or Anime! This series, to me, is just Good. I love the artist, I know a little about the characters from watching some of this and Reading/watching ParaKiss. it shocks me that it's overlooked, the same for her manga series and it's OVA Tenshi Nanka ja Nai.
Now I'm just awful at keeping track of unlicensed Manga and anime, so I think it's safer for me to keep my hopes down to just a few, to keep from wanting things that might Exist and I simply can't find.

I do know that Tsubasa Chronicle OVA has been licensed 'cause Vic said he just finished recording it, but as for XXXHolic, no news on that, but I really do hope so!

Ahhh, I've such a wish list!
I'm going to start with manga though, Liar Game needs a license, it has a pretty large following and genius mains seem to be all the rage (not to mention that I think Akiyama could genius other geniuses under the table any day).
I also don't think that Princess Knight has been licensed yet, I've never read it, I just know it's one of Tezuka's bigger series.
Given that Parasyte has been licensed, I'd also think I'd want to see Historie get a license as well. And maybe be allowed to have new chapters more than once every 3 months.
And then I just have my list of things that have been licensed that just need to be re-released in omnibus form or whatever: What's Michael? Club 9 (also needs to print vol 4 and 5), Basara, Please Save My Earth, and Banana Fish.
And would someone please rescue Cromartie High School's manga? There's only 5 more volumes!!! It's not fair, Yen Press rescued Yotsuba&! but not Cro High too? PLEASE rescue Cro High!
Now as for anime, the big obvious choice could only be Legend of the Galactic Heroes for anyone who has seen this. I don't care if it's sub only, although I'd like a dub, just so long as it gets over here! I know there are a lot of problems with licensing this series though, for one it's old and won't do that well on TV and for another thing, it's ridiculously long. And has a lot of side OVAs and movies and stuff.
I'd also like to see Mononoke come over, a lot of shows that I'd say are similar have done well so Mononoke might too.
I think I'd also like to see Basquash get licensed, a lot of hot-blooded shows are doing rather well now. Sure, sports are still doing as poorly as ever in sales, but with Basquash's hot blood, it might still do well. And it's a pretty damn awesome show if you ask me.

In case you can't guess, Im insanely jealous of your "score" right now. I knew I shouldn't have passed up buying it used at the last con I was at. I saw it and thought "no I can wait". Just watch, it's going to be gone now.

That's exactly my thoughts. I just don't see why there hasn't been a company that realizes that there are anime fans out there that enjoy more than just action. A good slow series like Bartender is really refreshing and I think would have a market here. Heck, if Mushi-shi can sell, why can't Bartender?

I'm with you on that, I've been wanting to own this series for a while now and a re-print would be more than welcomed by me. This series was really interesting but I've only had a chance to read a part of it. Come on Viz, get with the program.

I'm actually really confused why this hasn't been re-licensed yet. It seems like it would be a pretty valuable title to have under their belt.

For manga, I would love Kindaichi to be relicensed. As for others, it would be nice to have Liar Game and Master Keaton licensed.
For anime, a re-release of Emma with an English dub and for Moyashimon, Natsume Yuujin-chou, Kekkaishi, Kindaichi, and Ninku (I know this is really old too like Kindaichi) for dvd license/release.
