First my apology if wrong posting section!! I recently checked out the Toward the Terra Anime Legends DVD box set from Viridian. I know that anime was done in Japanese dialog only with English subtitles. However, when I turn back the DVD box set, to my dismay the language stated: Stereo English and Japanese! So my question, please help! Does anybody know is this English dub as well version or not?!

Thank you ahead for your responses, Zibster Smile !

Um, if it's an Amine Legends boxset then it's put out by an R1 company (Bandai I think?) and so of course it's going to have a dub, it's a pretty new thing for some animes not to have dubs. So, if you're asking if they is subbed and dubbed, yes it is. If you're asking if the dub is any good, can't help you there since I've only seen a few episodes subbed.

Erm, actually... all of the online retailers I've checked (amazon and rightstuf) have it listed as sub-only.

I don't know what you found, Lord Ziba... do you have the ability to post a photo? We might better be able to interpret it from a visual, rather than a description.

You definitely need to post a pitcure for us- see, 'Viridian' is not a company, it's a discount line from Funimation. However, Toward the Terra is a Bandai release- it shouldn't say Viridian on it. I'm very curious to see just what excactly you have.

I have the exact same set TheTheory linked to Rightstuf and it is in fact sub only. I'm not sure why it claims to have English Stereo on the back either, I'm assuming some of their previews might be for dubbed series, but that's just terribly misleading, Bandai should really not do that, or people are going to complain, then they'll delay things again to fix the printing error Evil or Very Mad

Now as for the Viridian thing...were you looking at it in a store and it was next to a Viridian series perhaps? Viridian is a real line, but not a company. Anime Legends is another line and that one belongs to Bandai while the Viridian line belongs to Funimation. They both put out complete collections under that line (Funi used to put out singles in Viridian too), but if you really see "Viridian Collection" and "Anime Legends" on the same package, that can't possibly be a real product. This one should say "Anime Legends" on it and have the Bandai logo. Of course, if you're looking in a Best Buy or something, the product is legit anyway so you're fine.

Whoops, sorry about that, I had thought all the Anime Legends series were dubbed and subbed. But now this is even more confusing, there does appear to be a dub down by Animax India but that's a completely separate company from Bandai.

The Bandai Ent Anime Legend boxset is definitely sub only. It consists of the same discs as the singles and the 3 part releases. The English dub listing on the backcover is a known typo.

However an English dub does exist though it's not available in the N. American market (counting US / Canada). It has been aired via Animax Asia with the English dub. As far as I know, there has only been one series [shown on Animax Asia] that was released with an English dub on DVD. That was Nodame Cantabile from last year (R3 Korea boxset - OOP, R3 Taiwan singles).
