I am a big fan of the "Priest" manga series created by Hyung Min-Woo. I found out a while ago that a live action movie was being made based on the manga and was initially looking forward to watching it, but to my immense disappointment, I find out after reading about it online and then watching the trailer that is currently online, that the storyline is completely different from the manga. I think that it's a great injustice to a great story/manga series when it is changed into something totally different. Do other "Priest" fans feel the same way or have any thoughts or comments on this?

I haven't read too many volumes.. but it's quite obvious this is quite the Hollywood abomination. Hell, this looks to make Constantine like a panel by panel recreation of the book set in London. This is LXG or almost Catwoman levels of bad adaptation. Hell, might even be near Dragon Ball levels of bad.

It really is a great manga series; I think instead of the live action movie, the money should have been invested into making it into an anime series instead, as I am all for anime that can push the envelope

its more of a why bother making a "Priest" movie if youre just going to change everything about it. I for one love the series(have 2 tattos from it) and it was what got me into manga. tho its not the only comic ish movie adaptation to be made and totally changed ( i am legend, wanted, anyone?). I've tried to find out if theres going to be anything beyond volume 16 actually ever releasing but its as if all information on the seris has vanished from reality. iam all for makeing changes to make things different but geez there are limits to that degree.

This took me by complete surprise...considering that I haven't seen a single volume of Priest in any book store I've visited for what seems to be years now
Considering how spectacularlu Johah Hex bombed, the studio's probably hemoraging trying to find a way to distrubute it properly. The fact that it's release has been pushed back FOUR MONTHS doesn't surprise me at all...

I totally agree w/ what you are saying. I can understand changing it a bit due to the fact that the manga is currently incomplete, so they would have to come up w/ an ending, but to change it to something completely different just gets my goat U have two priest tattoos? That is awesome, the manga's artwork is off the chains! If u don't mind me asking what are the tattoos of?

the tattoos are the covers of the first volume (right inner forearm) and the 3rd (left outer forearm). probally going to add color to them soon. if you want pics I've got them just ask. I've got serval more in the works that use artwork from the different books. breaks my heart the series stopped.

That is so cool. I would like to see pics of them when you complete them w/ color, that would be solid! Ur tattoo artist gotta be good because it is quite a bit of detail. I like the cover from the first volume, that is what drew me to the series in the first place I also really like the covers on # 14 & 15 too but my fave cover is def. from volume #6. It's been a while since I've read the series & I really hope that it gets finished. How disappointing will it be to leave us avid fans hangin, huh?
