Really spiralled out of control at the end there. I liked lots of individual moments in the last few episodes, but it didn't hang together as a cohesive whole. The backgrounds and art remains beautiful. But it all felt..off. Baffling is indeed the word.
Athy really coming into her own in Aug is possibly a little sudden for an otherwise sheltered girl who found a 4-person tea party overwhelming only recently, but it's a nice beat anyway. In some other story the whole memory diving thing would be neat, but it's just really odd how it happens here. Pulling the rug with a memory wipe not just at the 11th hour but at 23:59 is a bizarre narrative choice, especially if you're not immediately announcing a sequel.
I'd say I still enjoyed the series overall, but this leaves a bad taste that definitely retroactively weakens the whole.

I've resigned myself to an original 'and-they-lived-happily-ever-after' ending since a few episodes ago when they made it clear that they are going a different direction compared to the manhwa. But when Athy woke up and asked about Claude's condition, I had a really bad feeling that Felix and Lily were about to give her that worried look. And when they did, I just screamed 'WHYYYY?!' at my screen at 2AM in the morning possibly waking up a few light sleepers in the process
Is it a bid for a possible S2? Is it a terrible case of 'that's it! go read the source material for more'?

Wow, some how I completely missed this show was airing. I read the comic up to where her father was bed ridden and she was running things. Got dull then and started leaning into romance tropes.
Very few of these style storys seem to survive when the MC's grow up and it starts to lean into all the romance tropes.
