Though it may seem difficult to believe, everything that is out that you can see for the Lucky Star franchise including the anime, artbooks, various things, figurines, all owe their existence to the manga that started off as something simple. Now there are currently six volumes of Lucky Star manga out on the market, but there is no telling whether we'll be able to get them over here in the United States or not.

The series starts out pretty simple but the characters are set in place and don't change much from when we first see them, aside from appearances. spoiler[Konata is an otaku, Tsukasa is kind of a doji, Kagami is a tsundere and Miyuki is a meganekko. ]The thing is that Miyuki didn't come into the series until a chapter or two later. And, simple as it was, the first parts of the anime were just straight adaptions of the first few chapters of the manga, which kind of made it look a little boring until they got a new director.

I dont like the manga or anime
however
The manga lacks the references, and thus is boring
really boring
Lucky star's anime was at least fun for catching the various references
Also, the anime isnt different from the manga
the first volume is almost completely covered in the anime
with the exception of around... 2 pages?

Well if you're saying that you liked neither the anime or the manga why do you then turn around and say that the anime was fun? Also, my reference to the direct adaption of the manga to the anime was that the anime literally adapted the manga parts 100% for 100% of the material provided. That made it as you would call boring and unbearable to watch. When the show got the new director there was more added to the material and thus a bit more variety as well, making the series more enjoyable to watch.
