Well, hopefully this thing bombs at the box office. It's not looking good.

I'm hoping this turns out good.

1) because well that would be good.

2) I'd get a good laugh looking back at all the negativity.

I miss not looking up information on upcoming movies and being surprised by them.

Glad to see the older casting call wasn't true. You'd think that Spike Lee out of all directors would insist on having a diverse cast.

Well nice to see Spike Lee is doing a diverse cast. I have no problem with it so far.

That doesn't sound real.

Just, like, the whole thing. Wtf.

Who the hell did he have write the casting call? More importantly, do they still have a job?

(At the bottom of the article)
"According to the posted casting call, the film has a screenplay by Jo-Yun, Chun-hyung Lim, and Park, and it will start shooting in New Orleans on October 1. "

So... the screenplay for this version is written by the same people who wrote the screenplay for Park's Oldboy?
That could be a good sign.
However, IMDb has Mark Protosevich listed as the screenwriter... could be outdated/incorrect?

I'm excited to see this regardless. I'll be getting to see one of my favorite movies in a different light and context... it'll be interesting to see, regardless of the outcome.
If it sucks... there's always the original to go back to.

The Casting Director?

BTW, I know nothing of this series, and before this turns into another "Spike Lee is a racist" thread, what exactly was the issue with the previous casting call, that got everyone so bothered?

Actually view the article, then come back and tell me that you didn't groan when you read the casting call.

The "Asian Woman" role, casting for a female who is also Asian?

Yeah, that's pretty redundant.
