I really question this direction in anime. Instead of basing shows on deep, interesting stories, there has been a recent trend of basing shows on simple gags that would work as a Saturday Night Live sketch ... for 5 minutes.

Ho ho ho! that is Nentendo and Sega. Now what are you going to do with the rest of the series? Sad
