Dororo was fun to read, but it isn't Tezuka's best. It really surprises me that it won considering all the other fantastic titles out there. Still, I get that it's a big deal for a manga to win at all.

I agree. I thought the new Black Jack manga were more fun to read than Dororo, which ended at volume 3 or 4 when there are more monsters to kill. Now Monster should have gotten the award.

It should be noted that the Simpsons comic that won was a Death Note parody complete with Krusty as Ryuk.

Monster was also up for "Best Continuing Series", but lost to All Star Superman. While that Morrison penned DC book was amazing, it really wasn't ongoing, so I rather wish Monster had won that one instead.
