I would need some recommendations of some good romance manga. Let me be more precise: I just finished reading "Marmalade Boy" and I loved it: the romance was serious, the comedic aspects didn't take a ridiculously important place in the story and it's actually going somewhere, meaning that I don't have to wait 10 volumes for them to kiss each other. Another manga that I'm getting into (actually I read the first 2 volumes) is Mars and I also fell in love with this one.
So I guess I'm looking for something along those lines: romance with no or very little comedy and a lot of drama. Any ideas?

I'm not a big fan of romance manga, so I can't offer much, but I did like this one that I read.

Kare First Love: The nerdy girl with the glasses meets a popular good-looking guy who seems to be everywhere (that is, after she meets him) and who has similar interests as her. Her so-called friend 'falls' for this guy, and seeing that the nerdy girl seems to know him, manipulates her into setting up a get-together. After a chain-reaction of events, including the first time this nerdy girl (sorry...I can't remember her name, and I don't know what to call her. She really isn't very nerdy...) has consumed alcohol, she ends up in the guy's apartment because she threw up and passed out. When she wakes up, the guy sees her and falls in love with her because she is a lot cuter without her glasses (Why didn't he fall in love with her while she was sleeping? Because she was wearing her glasses). He wants to date her but her 'friend' gets in the way and her mother doesn't allow her to.

I think there's only two (or possibly three) volumes out right now, and my summary's pretty crappy, but IT isn't.

There isn't much comedy--I think there are some attempts but they kind of fail. Such as the protagonist imagining what she would actually like to do but doesn't.

Alrighty, Marlmalade boy is a definitley a shoujo title, so if that's what you want, then stay away from shounen titles. AKOrtega's suggestions probably wouldn't suit you.

'Wish' by CLAMP is a good romance title, with some magic to boot. Kiss Me Kill Me is also good, from what I've read. Those are all released by Tokyopop.

I personally like a lot of humor, but since you don't, I won't go into detail about The Wallflower or Kodocha. But I like these two a bunch.

Be careful with MARS. I personally didn't like it...it's evil!! XD It's good up until about volume 8 or 9, then just starts to suck. It's addictive at first, but after 15 volumes, you look back at it and say, "Wow, what a waste of my hard earned money and my time."

X-Day is also a good Romance title, but there's other strong themes besides the romance. Also released by Tokyopop. I've also heard that Hana-Kimi is a good romance title, but I myself have yet to read it. It looks good though.

it has a pretty large amount of comedy and action in it, but Ranma 1/2 is by and large a love story

KareKano is a title I really like. There are several love stories in it, the main one being between Yukino Miyazawa and Souichiro Arima. It's a fantastic series, because it grows on you, because the characters themselves grow. The series may start off goofy, and appear to be purely for laughs, but I don't think that's it. It really evolves... This manga takes the highschool romance in it very seriously. I find the characters, even the "minor" ones very lovable.

Have a look for yourself.

Imadoki! is very sweet, and very pretty. It's different from Yu Watase's more popular titles such as Ceres, or Fushigi Yuugi. Again, it's a highschool romance, with wonderful characters. It's nothing spectacular in the sense that it'll blow all other titles out of the water, but there's something about it that makes it very special to me =) ...

I believe it ends at volume 5.

That's all i can think of for now hehe. good luck! =)

Even though I am a guy, I do enjoy a romance story as the next person. So I suggest two that were already mentioned, Chobits, and Kiss Me, Kill Me. spoiler[I just got KMKM Vol. 5 and it was a good ending but a bit dissapointing in that Que-Min got with Ghoon-Hamn instead of her object of desire, Jung-Woo] I only read these two out of curiousity, and got hooked, as is obvious with the pic shown.spoiler[Sumomo or Plum of Chobits]

I've seen Chobits in anime: it's great, loved it.
Also, just finished Hana Kimi. The story was great, one thing I didn't like is it took them spoiler[21 volumes] to get together. That's a bit much. I heard Hot Gimmick was good, did anyone here read it?

Ranma doesn't go anywhere.

Hot Gimmick <--romance, comedy, drama.

I wouldn't call OMG! a strick romance. It's a great manga, but it has more adventure and comedy elements in it. Then again, Bell and Keiichi's relationship is far more open to analysis than most in manga, so that's a plus.
Most of the things people mentioned here are good, in particular Kare Kano and Maison Ikkoku.

I'll back up Kare Kano, along with dimwitted0ne (your name hardly fits Smile )and Kagemusha. It's very sweet and well-told. Like dimwitted one said, the main arc of the manga revolves around the main couple, but there are many, many great romances with the side characters as well. The character development is great and the drawing style is very delicate and pretty. And although it has a lot more comedy at the beginning of the series, it goes on to later investigate serious issues that many young couples have to deal with.

I always did think that Kare Kano and Imadoki (or anything by Yu Watase) is pretty good but you did say that you didn't really want any comedy---these are very comical titles.
