this is the least of the three versions of this story about a merchant and his wolf goddess traveling companion.

An accurate assesment, I think. Of the three versions of the story, the manga is definitely the weakest. But Spice and Wolf is one of my favorites so I'll buy it anyway.

The part about Holo's howl sending dogs running was interesting. In my experience a normal wolf's howl won't necessarily scare dogs away, though it's likely to get them excited. Of course, Holo is far from being a normal wolf.

Kudos to Theron for the very fair review. I love Koume Keito's character design, but I think he did a great job at expressing his points

If I understand it correctly....

spoiler[This is the part where Lawrence got royally screwed over and eventually had to resort to smuggling to get out of his bind. Is this downplayed in the manga version?]

The story has not gotten to that point yet. Based on the pacing of the manga, that part will likely start in the latter part of volume 4.

The whole of the light novels reach the rest of the united states?
I noted that Funimation was to release the second season of spice and wolf and hope they pick up the ova as well.

I would like to read the light novels since there is an ending in sight!

With Holo rescued from the Medio Company, Lawrence and Holo play a dangerous game of cat and mouse in the sewers with Medio's mean.

Those meanies!
