Ever since last September the site has been logging me out every day or two, instead of once or twice a month, which I find annoying. Is this the usual setting, am I missing something, or is there an actual bug?

I don't have any problems With the auto-login. Anyone else like the doc?

I should note that I am checking the "Remember me" check box when I log back in. It is perhaps also relevant that I am using Firefox 2.0.0.20 (due to my current OS's limitations) as well as Update Scanner. My cookies settings are permissive.

This may be stating the obvious, but last september did you install any privacy/antivirus/add-on software that would interfere with cookies? Are other sites also having trouble remembering you?

Offhand, no—Animetric also runs phpBB, and I have no problem with it, and all of the vBulletin sites (both versions 3 and 4) I use also work just fine. Ditto FusionBB at Anime Boston's forums. I don't have (or shouldn't) anti-virus or privacy software other than AdBlock Plus (I have a Mac), and the only things I have blocked for ANN is google-analytics.com and edge.quantserve.com, since my subscription "blocks" most of the advertising. However, I installed AdBlock Plus long before this problem started occurring.

I've had to re-login the last 7 times I hit the submit button after writing a post (between the times 8:07pm to 12:05am EST). It's starting to get a little annoying since I have to hit the back button to save my post, open a new tab with ANN, and then delete all my ANN cookies to log back in.

I'm using Opera 10.6 on Windows Vista and Flash version WIN 10,1,53,64

Edit: I amazingly didn't have to do it for this post.

You had to login back (the username/password won't be back) after posting a few, when Adblock Plus included a bug which will log out automatically.

Like 386sky said it might be a plugin problem. (do you still have the problem if you disable all plugins?)

Or it might be a cookie problem. (do you see the same cookie name more than once on this page?)

It could also be a dynamic IP address problem. Normally your IP address will not switch around so much while you're online, but if your IP suddenly changes from 1.2.3.4 to 5.6.7.8 the forum software will interpret that as a hijacking attempt and ask for your password again. Except that... from Jul 31 20:07 to Aug 1 00:05 I can't really find any trace of this in the access logs. Do you have an unusual network setup? What's your ISP?

A final possibility, while looking at those access logs I noticed the 5cm skin you were using was generating a lot of 404 errors; maybe this was somehow interfering... it's a long shot, but it's something that should be fixed anyway so I fixed it.

I have not tried that.

Nope.

I'm on a household LAN, connecting via Comcast cable internet. Our IP address changes only occasionally, or so I'm told.

I realize that you are referring to The King of Harts, but I'm using the standard skin.

I have no plugins or widgets on my browser.

No.

I believe I have a normal setup; my laptop uses Wifi to connect to my router. My ISP is Hughes Net and I'm pretty sure my IP Address is static.

If it starts becoming a problem again, I'll just change to the standard skin.

NOTE: I tried to preview this post, but got logged out again. I'm gonna change my skin after I get this posted.

You can temporarily disable all extensions by running Firefox in safe mode (it should be on the start menu).

You have to log in back after the computer got restarted, instead of saving the Hellsings ending number one project when Sony Vegas had unread changes because of lightning in the sky. We will no longer be given any replies for now.

This is happening again for the third time. I'm using the same setup as in my previous posts and my skin is the default. I have noticed that I've been getting a ton of DNS Errors over the past couple of days while going through the site; at least 4-5 a day. All I need to do is hit restart and it's fine, but it may be of importance. As far as I remember, though, I didn't get these errors the other two times. Also, as a side note, I have no problems editing posts, it's just submitting and previewing.
