Yeah, Nickelodeon, who no longer has any use for Power Rangers; and it ain't coming back to Vortexx on the CW.

So is this gonna be for kids or older fans, and is it going to be an interquel or a reboot?
So many questions.

It's really sad to see a lot of these franchises being reduced to nothing more than cheap nostalgia-cash ins. =\ First Konami's pushing of 'classic Yu-Gi-Oh' at Comic-Con and now this from Saban along with their cheap 'Tommy's back' gimmick promo for Megaforce. And I guess those Voltron/Robotech crossover comics as well count as well. These franchises are huge elsewhere among the Japanese version fans in their current iteration of Zexal and Kyoryuger yet it seems the only thing American fans care about is the original series x_x And it's not the fans so much as people who WERE fans but outgrew it but now they're tryin' to cash in on their adult nostalgia, rather than the current adults who love these current shows like they do in Japan. It's so annoying how this is the only way long running franchises can exist here, or maybe the fanbases here are just way too fickle and hate anything that isn't from their childhood. >_>; I'm not sure who to blame...

I heard that RPM was pretty well received, but the series certainly hasn't regained its old hotness since Saban revived it. I don't blame them for trying to entice older fans, some of whom almost certainly have children of their own.
As for why they have to resort to such measures to keep afloat, I'd say the better question to ask is how Japan managed to get used to completely different canons each season.
