I could buy a used PS3 on ebay at that price. Who the hell is going to pay that much for a sub-par version of a Vocaloid that was never originally intended to have an English vocal library? Rolling Eyes

@Juhachi

The hardcore Vocaloid groupies in English-speaking countries that's who. Just by labelling it Vocaloid will sell it to them.

If you know the market, that's a great price. The rest of the package alone would normally cost more than $149:

Quote:
The complete package will include the English vocal database itself from original Miku voice Saki Fujita, the vocal editor Piapro Studio, a set of over 200 PreSonus sound files for instruments, and the Studio One 2.5 Artist Piapro Edition digital music workstation software.

But it seems like they will not be offering the Japanese voicebank to English audiences (i.e. on Big Fish audio; or any English storefront)

And it appears they changed the Miku illustration for English audiences too:
Japanese: http://www.crypton.co.jp/mp/pages/prod/vocaloid/mikuv3.jsp
English: http://piapro.net/vocaloid/mikuv3e.html
She looks kinda like a guy now Sad

Wow. That Manly looking Miku is frightening lol. This would be a good deal if we could at least have the option of using Japanese as well, but the English library is terrible as it is...

It's been confirmed that there's an option of buying both Miku's Japanese and English voicebanks in a bundle on September 26.

バンドル bandoru- bundle

but not for the English market.

I hope they do and have sent en email to Crypton asking about it, but I have not seen any announcement yet if the JP voicebank will be available on Big Fish audio or any English marketplace.

I thought "Bundle" refers to the fact that they include Piapro Studio with the voice synthesizer as well as instruments so it's an all-inclusive package to get everything you need to create your own complete songs. All you need to add is imagination and lyrics. It just so happens this bundle is being released as an English language voicebank upgrade as well. This is what they mean by English language version (Miku singing in English), not the fact that the product is marketed to English language speakers (text and instructions in English).

It looks less anime-ish, I guess. Seriously, why are people complaining anyway about an English Hatsune Miku? It's not like the JP Miku is gone, or anything. Rolling Eyes

The English Miku illustration makes her look so manly -with detached-looking boobs as well-.
Anyway I think it's more proper to say it's "Engrish" than "English".
