are there any anime focused on winged angels fighting perferably with a black winged main character?

The main character of D.N.Angel has black wings, I think. I know one of the main ones does. And they fight. I only saw one episode, I'm not sure. I specifically remember two angels, one white winged and one black winged fighting in the first scene.
Bakusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan technically has angels fighting in it. It has a lot of blood. But I'm pretty sure it's not what you're looking for. |

DN Angel does not have that much fighting in it though. I read a review somewhere which said it quite well that don't count the first like 2 episodes for what the rest of the series will become. It's not a heavy action or fighting anime whatsoever. True enough though, the main character has black wings and there is another character with white wings so you can check it out if you want.

I think Angel Sanctuary would be your best shot.
I`ve never been a fan of the manga, nor the anime for that mather, but from what I seem to recall, I do remember that there was some fighting done between angels or demons. Cant promise some of them had black wings, but there definetely was some fighting goin on. I think the anime was a bit cheesy but thats only my personal view on this. Go check out Angel Sanctuary. |

I don't think there any black wings in the anime, go with the manga.. it's much much better (the OAV anime series is only volumes 1-5 compressed into three episodes out of the 20 volumes) too bad, i enjoyed the series... |

I recall one of the protagonists in Earthien has black wings, altough there isn't much fighting in the series. One of the Kamui's from X also has black wings. Perhaps it is common to have the black and white dicotomy in a series since most black winged angels hae there white wing equal.

Kamui's wings arn't real though. They are merely a symbol for which Kamui is the Dragon of Heaven, or the Dragon of Earth; The one who serves god, or the one that destroys god.
