Has anyone heard if the AZN channel (a.k.a I-Channel) is going to be showing new anime anytime soon? Just curious cause I heard someone say the channel had been bought out an that most likely there would be no new anime... which I hope isn't true.

Well, if you go to the "anime" section of their website, all it lists are Record of Lodoss War and Project A-ko. I think the run of Lodoss War is over, and they didn't show Project A-ko but rather Project A-ko: Versus, so I don't know how trustworthy the information on their site really is.
Looking at the actual schedule, it doesn't appear that they are planning to show either of those titles, but will instead be airing Descendants of Darkness for the next several weeks. Whether or not the network has been purchased by someone else, they certainly seem to have decreased the amount of Japanese content from back when they were the International Channel, including the amount of anime they show. It's too bad, because I got to check out several older series that I probably would not have made the effort to find if they had not been on TV. |
