@ashura: that kind of doesn't really apply to a title like Captain Tsubasa though. It's had umpteen sequel series by the original creator. It's rarely gone away long enough for a new Captain Tsubasa series to really feel like it's being brought back rather than just... continued.

Exactly. Also, Captain Tsubasa has aged with its audience by continually moving between magazines. The first two manga series ran in Shonen Jump before switching over to Young Jump with Road to 2002. Now, after a good run in YJ, it's moving over to the even older-focused Grand Jump.

This is actually the continuation of Golden 23. The wait for this one was longer than usual though. The last Captain Tsubasa release was in May 2012.
