I know this is going to be really paint-by-numbers touristy, but I am looking forward to this episode. I just have a soft spot for the Hairy Bikers.

They've only just put this up but they'll be also in Japan the episode afterwards going through the countryside and south to Kyoto.

I once caught it being done when channel flipping on.. I think it was that short "how it's done" programme on the Discovery channel or whatever.
Nearly everything about the things is poisonous (it boggles the mind why someone ever went through the trouble of finding out what bits aren't). As soon as you catch them you have the snip their teeth off to stop them killing each other and are filleted alive - they showed the still-beating heart being discarded (needless to say, it is poisonous).
