lol no it would be stupid to get rid of the Vita. It may not be doing too well, but it's still the best handheld they've got. At least Sony is trying to sell Vitas with this new deal. |

Erm, doesn't the PSP still sell well in Japan? This is going to bite sony on the rear. Especially since theres no real upgrade path for games, and downloading isn't popular in Japan.

Dec. 3, '94 was the release date of the original PS console. Regardless of which version fans like the most, the fact that the various consoles have been around this long means that fans really enjoy the PS consoles.
Is it fair to say that the Vita is the SNES of the PSP? |

Yeah just read about this on various gaming websites, I guess the PSP has "officially" ended in Japan. Took Japan long ago.

The PSP was a great system towards the end of it's life. It's the real successor of the PS2 with it's tons of Japanese games and jrpgs. Hopefully the Vita is even half the system the PSP was.

The PSP was a flop stateside, my best friend bought one right when they came out played it a few days and it sat in his closet for many years before selling the dam thing.
It was the better handheld system graphics wise which isn't saying much but it had no games worth buying, Then the movies fizzled out and no more where released for it. My other friend kept his this long since their where a bunch of Japanese Import games he bought for it mostly Anime inspired games. Hell I can't even think of anyone in public playing one that I can recall. But I've seen many people, especially kids with the Nintendo DS. When I was in the hospital 4 years ago my buddy loaned me his DS and it was a blast to play while stuck in bed that I almost wanted to buy one. About time they put the thing down it was long past it's time they should have did it years ago. |

PSP likely sold over 20 million units in North America. That's a shocking amount for a flop platform with no games. 
You shouldn't project. |

The PSP was actually a pretty good success. It's no flop. It's the software sales that tapped off.
I also find it hard to believe the system has no games when it's library is pretty incredible when it comes to exclusives. Add in the fact that it can play PS1 games and you have an amazing system with plenty to play. It's a shame it wasn't alive longer here as we missed plenty of good games. |
