I'm hoping somebody who understands Japanese can help me out.

On July 4, 2014 a site called Seventhstyle posted an entry claiming that Aniplex of Japan reported a net profit for its fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 of 3 billion yen, or roughly $30-million USD.

The post linked to this Japanese article on a site called gamebiz.jp as its source for that information:

Would somebody be willing to fully translate that Japanese article? There appears to be other financial information there that might be interesting. I searched to see if ANN had reported on this but couldn't seem to find anything. Please let me know if I have simply missed such an article in my search.

Here's a brief translation summary from Karen in our newsteam.

Sony Music Entertainment's subsidiary Aniplex handles production and marketing of film, mostly anime. The company released its 2013 balance sheet on July 4. (Includes the first 3 months of 2014--fiscal year ends March 31)). Their net income was 3 billion yen.

It mentions some titles Aniplex is known for and says it owns A-1 Pictures

The count includes from Monogatari Second Season, Magi, and Mahouka. Also Madoka Rebellion. Also the Idolmaster film and social games. Among other things, of course.

Bandai Namco Group's animation production studio Sunrise's net income was 2 billion yen (http://gamebiz.jp/?p=130875), and the production company Bandai Visual's was also 2 billion yen.

The image is a picture of the report in units of 1000 yen. [It would take quite a while to translate....] It does support what the article says, though.
