Wow. 20 parts? Don't recall something that big happening before. Feel free to let me know if this was done before.

I am curious about what they will be doing. I mean unless they announce a lot of similar or minor stuff this could get creative.

Clash of Red and Black, the one that ends with spoiler[Akai being shot], was 14 parts.

Although, until this point, I still think the most audacious thing they've ever done was 2 and a half hour long "episode" 345: Head-to-Head Match With the Black Organization; Two Mysteries of the Night of the Full Moon

who airs a 2.5 hour episode without calling it a special or a movie?

[edit]

whoops, commented without actually reading the article.

It's not a 20 part episode arc, it's just 20 events/specials.

Which makes sense, to do a 20 episode arc it'd have to be anime original at this point. Which, honestly, would help them put some distance between the manga and the anime, which is getting very snug right now.

Actually, '十八番 Jūhachi-ban' of '歌舞伎十八番 Kabuki Jūhachi-ban' means eighteen Kabuki plays, which are specialities of the head family of Ichikawa, rather than '#18'.
