Looks like Sentai Filmworks pulled a Trigun Badlands Rumble. Unlike the voice cast of Trigun, however, I'm not as attached to the voice actors of the original cast, besides Christine, so it's not the end of the world. As long as the Squid puns are kept intact! Wink

I bought Squid Girl Season 1 part 1 on DVD when it was released by Anime Works.

I then bought Season 1 complete on BluRay also by Anime Works.

I guess I'll be buying the complete set by Sentai when it comes out.

Anybody want my old Anime Works discs once I get the Sentai set?

Very ecstatic that Christine is back as Squid Girl! Smile I can't wait to hear some more squid puns.

Yeah thats the role that really matters for the return so I'm fine. Plus the rest of the cast is full of voice actor veterans so honestly this dub could be even better than season 1's. I'm not crazy about Greg Ayres as Takeru however, would rather a female voice him so would've preferred Amanda C. Miller returned there. Otherwise looks great.

If you're into collecting extras then I say keep the Media Blasters Blu-ray set since there are two Japanese extras on there that didn't make the Sentai release, presumably because they were produced by Crunchyroll.

Not bad. There's likely to be some tonal dissonance (not sure I'm using the right term), but otherwise nice to get Christine back into one of her best roles! Sure to be a kraken good time! Very Happy

Now we just need When They Cry and The Familiar of Zero... (though those are fine to recast).

I think Sentai could have chosen to have had as much of the original cast reprise their roles via LA recording studios and Sentai release the home box set. It was back in August or July that Christine did a tweet she was going to Houston, so she kind of hinted at reprising her role.

They bombed for Geneon and Funimation. Sentai has already released complete collections of them. The chances of getting a dub now are next to zero.

those got subbed only sets already, (but I agree for recasts because both Higurashi and Familiar of Zero had awful dubs)

I remember being told that Sentai can't get anyone from LA to reprise a role when I complained about Fate Kalied's dub, boy times sure have changed

I thought Higurashi and FoZ's English versions were alright, but that's just myself.

Hoping Sentai gets the original Saint Seiya anime and redubs all of it this time

it may be easier too since all they need to do is start where ADV left off (and recast Seiya because of what happened with his voice actor that I won't go into details here)

Absolutely not for Zero. It actually had an objectively good dub so there's no need for them to ruin it. If they're going to have to recast, it's best to just leave it alone.
