Great book, great series. Would love to see it get picked up for physical.
I don't remember having the impression that Nemesis had romantic feelings for Ray. Their relationship felt like close siblings to me. I would also argue that Embryos take on a life of their own after initially forming, so if she represents his "real" self, and he roleplays as his "ideal" self, it would be natural for her to mesh well with "the character of Ray."
Should also be mentioned that Hugo's Embryo being a Type Maiden is kind of a spoiler, since he hides that fact for most of the book.

This was a really enjoyable book, although a bit hard to get into at the beginning. The premise is interesting though, and as far as book 3 goes, something big really is going on.

This was one of my favorite light novels of the year. This is a fascinating world I want to see more of, I enjoy all the side characters, and I loved the final fight; the monster (as described) was something straight out of Bloodborne
